Comparison
Landlord HQ vs August vs LetCompliance
We sell one of these three, so read this knowing that. What we can offer instead of impartiality is verifiability: every figure below was read from the other product's own pricing page on 12 August 2026, and each one links to the page it came from.
Prices change without notice. If a figure here disagrees with what you see on their site, theirs is right and ours is stale — please tell us and we will fix it.
What each costs
The units differ, and that matters more than the headline number: August counts tenancies, the other two count properties. A landlord with one property let room-by-room can hit a tenancy limit while sitting well inside a property limit.

The one direct comparison
Our Landlord tier covers up to 5 properties for £9.99 a month. The closest tier to it, LetCompliance's Solo, covers up to 3 properties for £14.99 a month (£11.99 billed yearly). More properties for less money is the whole of that comparison — it is two entry tiers on two axes, and everywhere else the plans cut the market differently, which is why the rest of this page compares approach rather than tiers.
What they do that we do not
This section exists because a comparison where the seller wins every category is not a comparison. If any of the following is what you need, one of these is a better buy than we are.
August
A property management app for self-managing landlords and HMO operators, built around Open Banking rent tracking and expense capture, with compliance as one module among several.
- Connects to your bank through Open Banking to track rent automatically
- Logs expenses in HMRC-aligned categories
- Scans uploaded documents to extract dates

LetCompliance
An all-in-one property management and compliance platform aimed at both private landlords and letting agents, extending up to agency and enterprise tiers.
- Collects rent and scans receipts to log expenses
- Runs a passwordless tenant portal
- Handles the lettings funnel — adverts, applications, Right to Rent checks
- Prepares landlord tax figures (SA105, Section 24)

Where we differ on purpose
These are not features we are ahead on. They are choices, and each one costs us something — which is the only way to tell a position from a boast.
Every claim carries its source
Each compliance requirement links the statute or the council designation it comes from, and each council record carries the date we last verified it. Where we have not established a position, the page says so rather than guessing.
What it costs us: It makes us slower and it makes our coverage look smaller — we publish "we do not hold a fee for this council" where a confident competitor would publish an estimate.
We delete your documents by default
We read documents and keep information. A tenancy agreement is analysed and then deleted; the findings stay. Storing the file at all is an explicit per-account choice that ships switched OFF, and turning it back off purges everything we hold.
What it costs us: It means we cannot offer a document vault, and you cannot come back to us for a copy of your own certificate. That is a real feature we have given up.
Whole-portfolio pricing
Two tiers separated only by property count, and every feature on both. The £19.99 tier is unlimited — a landlord with forty properties pays the same as one with eleven.
What it costs us: We earn less from large portfolios than per-property pricing would, and we have no upgrade path to sell beyond the second tier.
Try the part that needs no account
The free compliance audit gives the full requirement list for an address with the legislation behind each item, and the tenancy agreement check reads your agreement against the current regime. Neither needs a card, and the second needs no account at all.
