Croydon · Selective
1 September 2026 · in 7 daysFourteen of Croydon's twenty-eight wards, designated 25 March 2026. A single-household let needs a licence in half the borough and none in the other half, so check the ward map for the specific address.
Croydon · Additional HMO
1 September 2026 · in 7 daysBorough-wide, designated 25 March 2026 — and Croydon designated a selective scheme the same day. In Croydon you now have two separate questions to answer, not one.
Enfield · Selective
1 September 2026 · in 7 daysA renewal, and the easiest kind of change to miss. The outgoing fourteen-ward designation ends 31 August and this seventeen-ward scheme starts the next day with no gap — a licence under the old designation does not carry into the new one.
Gloucester · Additional HMO
21 September 2026 · in 27 daysCitywide, designated 9 June 2026, covering every ward.
A licence is required from the commencement date, not from the date you apply. Operating unlicensed is a criminal offence carrying a civil penalty of up to £30,000 and a rent repayment order of up to twelve months' rent.
