Bridgend operates no selective licensing designation under s.80. Regulation is delivered through Shared Regulatory Services with Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan, whose pages cover HMO licensing only, and no s.80 designation appears on bridgend.gov.uk or any SRS page. Corroborated nationally by the Welsh Government quality report on HMO licensing, which states of selective licensing in Wales: "No local authorities have operated under this scheme since 2017 to 2018". Wales rule applied: Rent Smart Wales is a separate national regime under the Housing (Wales) Act 2014 and is not evidence either way. Established 21 Aug 2026.
